August was a very busy month for me, I had a lot going on with my health, other interests, and school getting closer; there was just a lot going on. And for that reason, among many others, is why I've only two books to show you for my reading for the month of August.
*cue the sad and miserable music*
Without further ado, let us begin!
The first book I started in the month of August was Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. I really enjoyed this book! I love historical romance and I usually use every excuse I can to fit them into my reading schedule. Outlander was the perfect excuse. Gabaldon did a fantastic job incorporating information and realism in many of the scenes throughout the book! It was so good, in fact, that as I was in the middle of the book I decided to order the second book so I could jump right into it. I will say, however, that I do blame Outlander for being one of the reasons that I read only two books. This baby was 850 pages! Not that that was a problem for me . . . psh. 5 stars on goodreads |
The second and last book that I read for the month of August was actually my summer reading for my Enlgish IV Honors class (*sheepishly grins*): The Murder of Roger Ackroyd by Agatha Christie. My mom is a huge fan of Christie and encouraged me to read it, and my mom doesn't have bad taste in books, so I knew I could trust her on this. After I started reading the book, I could not put it down. It was so good! What made the book better was listening to it through audible.com the narrator was absolutely talented. I don't think I could've felt the same way about this book if I hadn't listened to it. This definitely has to be the best summer reading book I've ever read. (P.S.: To those of you that still have to do their summer reading, I highly recommend doing it in audiobook. It's simply easier and more efficient to do than sitting down and reading it, plus it also takes less time.) 5 stars on goodreads |
